Why this drop is different

September 16, 2026 is the first worldwide same-day Pokémon TCG launch. That kills the usual Japan-to-US import arbitrage and dumps the entire planet onto one street date. Shelves will not last.

The set is all-foil, introduces Futuristic Rares (Mewtwo, Mew, Pikachu by YOSHIROTTEN), ships 30 unique Pikachu illustrations, and reprints Base Set Charizard. That is four separate collector hooks in one SKU family.

What to preorder, in order

  1. Regular Elite Trainer Box at $49.99 MSRP (9 packs). The one you open or gift. Not the Pokémon Center ETB. If you cannot find MSRP, wait — do not pay $90 in August.
  2. Ultra Premium Collection if you want the later hold. $179.99, 29 packs plus a Classic Collection pack, streets November 6, 2026. Not a launch-week SKU.
  3. Nothing else until week-two comps print. Case bets are how people get buried when allocation is fat.

Where to click

Pokémon Center and big-box retail for MSRP. TCGplayer and eBay only after you have compared to sold listings — preorder aftermarket is where hope goes to die. Amazon if and only if it is sold-by-Amazon.

Turn on a Craze Alert so you are not refreshing five apps on launch morning.
