Blazing: 30th Celebration and Ascended Heroes
30th Celebration is the trade. Worldwide same-day launch on September 16, all-foil packs, Futuristic Rares, 30 Pikachu cards, Base Set Charizard reprint. Anniversary sealed (Celebrations, 151-adjacent SKUs) has a habit of doubling once the window closes. Preorder the ETB and one premium SKU. Do not preorder a scalped case.
Ascended Heroes already printed the year. Largest English set ever, Mega Gengar ex SIR near $960, and it sat at #1 on TCGplayer GMV in May. You buy this for sealed exposure or you buy the single. Opening for Gengar is a donation.
Hot: Prismatic, 151, Pitch Black
Prismatic Evolutions is still the modern blue chip. The May 2026 SPC buyout on a reprint dip is the tell: collectors will keep eating Eeveelutions. Buy SPCs on red days.
151 booster bundles over $200 are a hold, not a rip. Rotation plus the 30th anniversary is a stacked narrative. Size it — a surprise reprint would hurt sealed more than Charizard SIR.
Pitch Black is the newest main set with a real chase (Mega Darkrai). Four weeks post-launch is when people dump extras to fund anniversary preorders. That is your window.
What to skip
Skip $400 Destined Rivals boxes unless you bought them at $220. The ETB restock is the live trade. Skip ripping any pack that costs more than $8 unless the entertainment is the point. Run the pack EV calculator first.
